I attended the Canadian National Air Show again this year and the weather was almost perfect for taking photos. The conditions were mostly sunny with some clouds to make the shots more interesting.

One of my favorite stunt planes is the YAK-50 piloted by Gordon Price. While the fighter jets are remarkable, I find some of the more interesting and entertaining shows are by the older planes.

YAK-50 Flying at Canadian International Air Show

Gord Price, who is the pilot of the YAK-50, puts on a fantastic show. I’ve photographed his flights for the last several years and wondered what the writings on his plane meant (The Dam Pub). So I finally looked it up and found that “The Dam Pub” is actually a pub just north of Toronto in Thornbury. Evidently, this pub has a wide selection of fine whiskey’s and I hear the food is great too.

The Snowbirds once again flew at the Canadian International Airshow and did not disappoint anyone (as usual). They did their usual stunning show with various flybys and heart stopping stunts where they fly close together.

Also appearing were the Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows who were invited for the 70th anniversary of the Canadian International Air Show. They were spectacular!

Another interesting old jet fighter I found interesting was a MIG-15 which was flown in the Korean War.

Overall the show was fantastic and I certainly will be attending next year!
