Toronto Air Show Should Be Expanded

There has been recent discussion, by some groups, to put an end to The Toronto Air Show. Yes, it’ noisy and whatnot but it’s symbolic of Canada’s heritage and for standing up to what is wrong with this world. Canada has historically been a major contributor to the war effort – having contributed to World Wars 1 & 2. Canada stepped in before America and lost many more soldiers per capita.

Yes it gets quite noisy, but the 60-year plus tradition is there to remind us what we stand for in this world. If it upsets some people, perhaps they should take some history lessons and get some insights into what Canada stands for.

Yes, diversity is important but sovereignty and understanding where we came from is even more important. If a nation erodes its sovereignty, it forgets her past and where we came from. While all of us came over on the same boat, I feel it’s important to remember our past, what we stood up for, and where we came from.

If the 3-day event offends you, perhaps you should pick up a camera and head on down to the #CNE and take in the events. I visited, for the first time, after several decades and enjoyed the event thoroughly! The Snowbirds performed in precision like format and dazzled all in attendance.

The Toronto Air Show should be continued indefinitely. It is a tradition of where we came from and what we stand for. We stand for freedom, goodwill, and how we should care for one another. While we have differences, we should look more deeply into the similarities we have.
